Shanty Night
Third Fridays, through October
Pack up the family and a picnic dinner, bring your instruments and singing voices, and join us for an open sing around the campfire. Everyone is encouraged to share their favorite song and take a turn leading the singing. Admission is $5 per person and free to members of Coggeshall Farm Museum and children under 3.
Picnic Movies
Pack your picnic basket and join us for short animated films based on popular picture books! We will provide juice boxes. Designed for ages 2 and up; younger siblings welcome.

Family Movie Night: The Pirates! Band of Misfits
Hop aboard the good ship Athenaeum for this claymation adventure comedy featuring a hapless band of pirates and their rivals as they compete for the title of Pirate of the Year! Designed for children ages 5+ with parent or caregiver. Rated [PG], running time approx. 88 min. Enjoy pizza, juice boxes, and ice cream treats. $5 snack fee per child (adults free).

Brown Opera presents The Magic Flute
Children, families, and opera lovers assemble! Come enjoy the charming and entertaining annual opera experience, adapted and performed by the talented students of Brown Opera. Free and all welcome! Please register to ensure seating by emailing Lindsay or calling her at 401-421-6970.
Downtown Sundown Series
June 25, July 9 & 23, August 6 & 20
Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, and maybe even a picnic dinner and sit on the lawn at the beautiful Roger Williams National Memorial and enjoy FREE concerts by some of the best songwriters RI has to offer. Lots of street parking available. All ages are welcome. Hear In Rhode Island and Roger Williams National Memorial will present five wonderful evenings of music featuring local singer-songwriters as part of the Downtown Sundown Series. Experience an “outdoor coffeehouse.” Event will be held inside if there is bad weather.
Monkey Monkey Music with Meredith Lavande
Hear acclaimed children’s band Monkey Monkey Music with Meredith Lavande in a free concert at Lippitt House Museum. A Parenting magazine “top pick,” Monkey Monkey Music creator Meredith Lavande’s music videos are featured on 100 PBS stations across the county. Children will have plenty of space to dance to the upbeat music while parents enjoy an urban greenspace. Families are invited to bring a blanket and a picnic to the concert, part of the Hunter Music Series which hosts performances for both children and adults at the museum throughout the year. The concert is supported by Media Partner Rhode Island PBS Kids Club. The concert will be held rain or shine with a rain location at the Central Congregational Church at 296 Angell Street. Windmill Wednesdays

Have you always wanted to see the inside of the 1812 Prescott Farm windmill? Now is your chance at this windmill open house! Explore how this amazing machine works and learn about the importance of grist milling on Aquidneck Island. Enjoy a family-friendly evening with johnnycake tasting and hands-on activities for kids. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy at one of our picnic tables while listening to live music from Rory and Ric.

Concerts Under the Elms
Enjoy this annual outdoor summer concert series held under the canopy of elms at the John Brown House Museum. Hear a variety of musical styles and enjoy a relaxed evening on the lawn. Bring your own lawn chairs and picnic or enjoy food from one of the local food trucks! In case of inclement weather, check www.rihs.org or call (401) 331-8575 x133 after 1:30pm on the day of the concert. Rain date is August 11.

Family Fun Fridays
Blithewold’s Family Fun Fridays are the ultimate family-friendly way to enjoy an early summer afternoon. Bring a picnic, a blanket to sit on, and enjoy the show! Each week, dance and sing along with the kids to a variety of educational and interactive musical performances. Performance runs from 11:00-12:00. From 12:00-1:00, there will be a fun nature-inspired craft activity, face painting, and pizza (one slice of pizza per person, so you may want to bring additional food).
Admission includes entrance to the museum: $14 Adults, $13 Seniors, $10 Full-time Students/Military, $5 Children 6- 17
